Experience a journey through history with our Mutianyu Great Wall and Dingling Tomb Day Tour. This tour offers a perfect blend of Beijing’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Begin your day by exploring the majestic Mutianyu Great Wall, known for its stunning scenery and well-preserved structure.
Then, delve into the history of the Ming Dynasty with a visit to the Dingling Tomb, the only Ming tomb that has been excavated and opened to the public. This tour provides a comprehensive look at two of Beijing’s most iconic sites in one day.
Itinerary:
Morning:
7:30 AM: You’ll embark on a comfortable drive to the Mutianyu Great Wall, approximately 1.5 hours away. During the drive, your guide will provide insights into the history and significance of the Great Wall.
9:00 AM: Arrive at the Mutianyu Great Wall, where you’ll take a cable car to the top. Known for its fewer crowds and beautiful surroundings, Mutianyu offers a peaceful hiking experience. Walk along the ancient wall, explore its watchtowers, and take in the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forests.
Midday:
12:00 PM: After your hike, descend by cable car and enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch at a nearby restaurant. This meal will feature local dishes, offering a taste of Beijing’s culinary culture.
Afternoon:
1:30 PM: After lunch, you will head to the Ming Tombs, about a 1-hour drive away. Your destination is the Dingling Tomb, the burial site of Emperor Wanli. This underground mausoleum is the only Ming Dynasty tomb that has been excavated and is open to the public. Explore the underground chambers, view the imperial artifacts, and learn about the burial customs of the Ming Dynasty.
4:00 PM: After exploring Dingling, you will be driven back to your hotel. This drive provides an excellent opportunity to relax and reflect on the day’s experiences.
5:30 PM: Arrive back at your hotel, marking the end of your Mutianyu Great Wall and Dingling Tomb Day Tour.
