furlough 一词有三个意思:
第一:是暂时解雇,暂时休假(不带薪),就是你仍然受雇于你工作的公司,但你不能工作,也不能领取工资。有别于furlough, laid off 是下岗的意思,必须重新找工作。对雇主来说,furlough是在经济困难时期节省成本的一种方式。被暂时解雇的员工可以在雇佣合同允许的情况下也从事新的工作。
