Gubeikou Great Wall Hiking Day Tour

Take the Gubeikou Great Wall Hiking Day Tour for an immersive journey through history, exploring one of the most untouched sections of the Great Wall. However, Wohu Mountain Great Wall is not open to the public. Today, you will hike the Panlongshan Great Wall, also known as the Gubeikou Great Wall. This portion of the Wall remains unrenovated, offering a raw and authentic experience filled with the sense of history’s passage.


Morning:

7:00 AM: You will embark on a comfortable drive to Gubeikou Town, about 2 hours away. During the journey.

Hike the Gubeikou Great Wall

9:00 AM: Upon arrival at Gubeikou Town, you will begin your hike along the Panlongshan Great Wall. This section is renowned for its untouched condition, providing an authentic feel of the Wall’s original state. As you hike along the rugged ridges, you’ll experience breathtaking views and a deep sense of connection to the past.

Midday:

12:30 PM: After completing the morning hike, you will enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch at a local farmhouse restaurant in Gubeikou Town. This meal will allow you to taste authentic local dishes, providing a perfect break before continuing your exploration.

Afternoon:

1:30 PM: After lunch, you’ll continue your hike, exploring more of the Panlongshan Great Wall. This portion of the hike offers a closer look at the unrestored Wall, complete with original watchtowers and expansive views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. This unique experience offers a chance to appreciate the Wall’s historical significance and natural beauty.

Hike the Gubeikou Great Wall

3:30 PM: After finishing your hike, you will return to your vehicle and begin the drive back to Beijing. This is an excellent time to relax, reflect on your day’s adventure, and ask your guide any remaining questions.

5:30 PM: Arrive back at your hotel, marking the end of your Gubeikou Great Wall Hiking Day Tour.

      Awfully sorry we don’t have any tours during this period.

      Alternatively, you may ask your hotel to arrange a taxi taking you directly from your hotel to the ticketing office of Gubeikou Great Wall in Gubeikou Village. The village is just blow the Gubeikou Great Wall. You just follow the path walking up to the Wall. It is a one way hike. You hike to the last watchtower with a sign (Military Forbidden Area), then you have to retrace on the same route back to where you start.

      By the way, there are two parallel Great Walls, one is much older (dating back to the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577) , one built in MIng Dynasty ( (1368-1644), If you want to climb the old one, you have to choose another path up to Wall. There are some red marks pointing to the older Great Wall.
