Good morning. I read very carefully your website, specifically about the reservations of Tianamnen Tower, Great Hall of the People and Chairman Mao Memorial.
I have a WeChat account and I was able to access their respective mini programs but for the last two I mentioned, I couldnt find any date or time slot available for the next 3, 6 or 7 days. It seems that even if I was trying to book Chairman Mao Memorial with the advised plenty of time of 7 days I couldnt get a reservation. Could you please tell me if this is usually like this?
Whats the best way to make sure I can visit those places during my limited time in Beijing, after all?
My best regards,
Vincent

Hi Daniel. Thank you so much for your careful response. It really eased my frustration about this issue, not exactly because of how it works but mostly why I was trying everything I could and yet the available spots I could see were not showing for me to get them.
I have a WeChat account but it is registered with my foreign number. I thought I would need a Chinese SIM card from those operators only to access the activation codes while I was booking the tickets... So if this is wrong I definitely need to buy a SIM Card from China Telecom/Unicom/Mobile online, have it delivered to my home and then install and register a new WeChat account with that number, right?
I am able to do that but at the moment, all the Chinese SIM cards I was able to see for sale online were e-SIM cards or just mobile data ones and those wont work, right?... Do you know where could I order online a real-name SIM card from one of those three main Chinese mobile operators and have it sended to me?
Many thanks in advance for your kind generosity!
My best regards, Vincent

Real-name registration from abroad:
You can complete the whole registration process using your passport, and activation can be done outside China. No need to wait until you land. -
Works with WeChat, SMS codes, etc.:
While some features (like receiving certain SMS codes) might need to be tested once you’re in China, many users have reported that it works well for things like WeChat verification and ticket bookings — especially if you activate and test it in advance. -
How to order:
You can buy it directly through Nihao Mobile’s website or their WeChat account (“Nihao Mobile”). They accept PayPal, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. -
Fast international delivery:
They ship via SF Express and it usually arrives within 48 hours, so you should have it in hand before your flight. -
Support in English and Chinese:
They also offer bilingual customer service, which makes it easy to get help if anything goes sideways.
If for some reason the timing is too tight, you could also buy a SIM card after landing — Beijing Capital Airport has counters for China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, but just a heads-up: it often involves some queuing and on-site registration.
Always happy to help!
Daniel
Daniel, thank you so much, that seems so helpfull! I will definitely try the Nihao Mobile options but I was left with a doubt. if it doesnt have roaming how can I use WeChat to reserve the Tianamnen Tower and the Chairman Mao Memorial before I land in China? I should probably ask this to their costumer service. Thank you for your help in all of this.
I will make sure I will help with a review or somethig else you need!
I will only go to China on May 16th, I planned to visit Tianamnen Square and buildings on the 21st so for the Tower I think I need to book it before I am in China, on the 15th... So I am trying my best to have everything correct with plenty of time.
My best regards
