Hi there,
I'll have an 8-hour layover in Beijing and would love to visit the Great Wall during that time. But I don’t want to carry my suitcase around the whole day. Is there luggage storage at Beijing airport, and is it safe to leave bags there? I’m not sure which airport I’ll land at yet — any tips would help. Thanks! John.
Hi John, great question — and we’re excited you’re using your layover to explore the Great Wall!
Beijing has two international airports:
-
Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)
-
Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX)
Both offer luggage storage options to make your layover lighter and stress-free.
At Capital Airport, you’ll find 24-hour luggage storage in Terminals 1, 2, and 3, with prices starting at ¥20/day depending on bag size. It’s ideal for flexible timing and large bags.
At Daxing Airport, there are multiple storage counters open between 07:00–22:00, and one 24-hour service in the international departure area. Prices range from ¥30–¥60/day. Daxing even offers baggage delivery inside the airport.
Let us know your arrival terminal, and we can guide you to the nearest storage spot! For more information, check out Beijing Airport Luggage Storage: Everything You Need to Know.
Safe travels!
