Hello, my name is antonio granda and i am looking for a private tour to visit either Badaling or Mutianyu but in our party of 4 people, there is a person on wheelchair.
Would like to ask, which options will be better to have better views? Is it possible to get into the cable cars with the wheelchair?
Thank you in advance
Luca

Hi Luca,

Thank you for reaching out to us, and it’s wonderful to hear that you’re planning a visit to the Great Wall with your group.

For travelers with a wheelchair, we highly recommend Mutianyu Great Wall as the best option. It offers not only stunning scenery but also some of the most wheelchair-friendly access among all sections of the Wall.

Why Mutianyu is the Best Choice:

  • Smooth, accessible paths from the parking area to the cable car station

  • Cabin-style cable cars that can comfortably accommodate one standard wheelchair plus 2 companions

  • Friendly staff who assist with boarding and securing the wheelchair

  • The ride is smooth and scenic, taking about 6 minutes to reach Tower 14

  • On top, the path between Towers 14 and 15 is relatively flat, making it ideal for wheelchair users

  • There are rest areas, wide platforms, and even accessible toilets near the cable car station

  • The area is less crowded than Badaling, allowing for a more relaxed and enjoyable experience

We suggest visiting before 9:00 AM to avoid peak crowds and to enjoy cooler weather, especially if you’re planning to spend 3–4 hours including transport.
