Ruqin Photo Walks — Real Beijing, One Walk at a Time
📍 Updated from my regular walks across central Beijing
Welcome to Ruqin Photo Walks.
I’m Ruqin, based in Beijing. I walk the city regularly with my camera and document practical, real-world routes across hutong neighborhoods, landmark districts, and everyday streets. This section brings all of those walks together under one focus: Beijing Photo Walks.
Every route comes from my own footsteps. The photos reflect current street conditions, crowd levels, seasonal atmosphere, and the small changes that happen over time. I don’t attempt to cover every part of Beijing. Instead, I gradually build a growing visual map of the areas I personally walk.
These Beijing Photo Walks may include:
step-by-step walking routes
exact viewpoints and shooting spots
notes on crowd levels and closures
seasonal changes
practical timing suggestions
Some walks focus on famous landmarks. Others explore quiet hutong lanes or overlooked neighborhoods. Over time, they form a practical reference for travelers who want to understand what Beijing actually looks like — not just what brochures show.
Beijing changes constantly. Streets are renovated. Entrances move. Subway exits are adjusted. Crowd patterns shift by season and time of day. These walks help capture those realities through regular observation.
If you’re looking for polished marketing images, this may not be the right place. However, if you want a grounded, on-the-ground view of Beijing — based on real walking experience — you’re in the right place.
Start with any Beijing Photo Walk and explore the city step by step.
