Qianmen Street is on the list for many first-time visitors to Beijing. The pedestrian street runs for about 800 metres, lined with old-style façades, restaurants, local shops and newer businesses. During the day it is busy with tour groups and shoppers. At night, the lights come on and the street takes on a different look.

With all the walking, eating and drinking, there is also a very practical question: where is the toilet on Qianmen Street?

There is a public toilet in the southern part of the pedestrian street. It has no street number of its own, so it is easy to walk past if you don’t know where to look.

The entrance is between No. 153 and No. 139 Qianmen Street.

A useful landmark is No. 139. Here you will find 77′ Beer Girl, a bar that often attracts foreign visitors. When you see the bar, the public toilet is nearby.

There are a couple of other useful things beside the toilet entrance.

On the right is a shared Meituan power-bank station. Scan the QR code with WeChat or Alipay, choose a power bank and follow the instructions on your phone. In most cases, the power bank can later be returned to another available station of the same brand.

Next to the power-bank station are rubbish-sorting bins, another small but useful stop while walking along the street.

Nothing special here—just a public toilet, a charging station and a few rubbish bins. But when you have been walking Qianmen Street for an hour or two, knowing exactly where they are can be surprisingly useful.
