Tour Introduction
If you’re looking to see one of the most dramatic landscapes near Chongqing, Wulong makes an unforgettable day trip.
This private full-day journey takes you into the heart of the Wulong Karst UNESCO World Heritage Area, where towering natural stone bridges, steep limestone cliffs, deep gorges, and mountain scenery feel completely different from the city.
Everything is arranged for you in advance—private transport, entrance tickets, scenic elevator access, and lunch—so the day feels smooth and easy from start to finish.
You’ll travel in a comfortable private air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced local driver familiar with the mountain roads, making the journey both safe and relaxing. Lunch is served at a carefully selected local restaurant, with regional dishes rather than a standard tour-group meal.

Because this is a private experience, the pace stays flexible. If you’d like more time for photos, a slower walking rhythm, or a relaxed lunch break, the day can naturally adjust around your group.

Your Day Trip to Wulong
Journey from Chongqing to Wulong
Your day begins with pickup from your Chongqing hotel in the morning.
From the city, it’s around a 2.5 to 3-hour drive to Wulong. The route gradually leaves the urban skyline behind and opens into mountain scenery, river valleys, and the limestone landscape of southeastern Chongqing.
Along the drive, your guide will introduce the geological story behind Wulong and explain how this extraordinary karst landscape was formed over millions of years.
Wulong Karst National Geological Park
Upon arrival, you’ll enter Wulong Karst National Geological Park, part of the South China Karst UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This landscape is known for its dramatic cliffs, caves, sinkholes, natural stone bridges, and deep canyons carved by water and time.
It feels wild and expansive, and completely different from the city.
Three Natural Bridges
Your first main visit is Three Natural Bridges, Wulong’s most famous scenic area.
This remarkable landscape features three enormous natural limestone arch bridges formed over millions of years and set within a deep karst valley.

Walking here feels almost cinematic, with towering cliffs rising on every side and stone bridges stretching overhead between the mountains.
The area became especially well known after appearing in the Transformers film series, but even without that connection, it’s impressive purely for its scale.
Entrance tickets and scenic elevator access are included, and your private vehicle will bring you conveniently to the entrance area without the extra transfers often used on larger group tours.
You’ll have time to walk through the valley, enjoy the views, and stop for photos along the way.
Suggested visit: around 2 hours
Lunch Break
After the morning visit, you’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant nearby.
This is a chance to rest and enjoy regional Chongqing dishes before continuing into the afternoon.
Fresh drinks will also be provided after lunch.
If you have dietary preferences or food allergies, it’s helpful to let us know in advance so arrangements can be made.
Suggested break: around 1 hour
Longshuixia Gorge
In the afternoon, continue to Longshuixia Gorge, another of Wulong’s most beautiful natural areas.
The gorge cuts dramatically between steep mountain walls, creating a narrow canyon with cliffs, waterfalls, streams, stone pathways, and dense greenery throughout.

Walking through the gorge feels immersive and adventurous, with changing scenery at every turn—water running beside the trail, rock walls rising overhead, and waterfalls appearing unexpectedly along the route.
Compared with the openness of the Three Natural Bridges, Longshuixia feels more enclosed and intimate, which makes the two visits pair especially well together.
Suggested visit: around 2 hours
Scenic Drive Along the Wu River
On the return journey, you’ll pass stretches of the Wu River, one of the Yangtze’s major tributaries.
Known for its deep gorges and steep riverside cliffs, the scenery along the river is beautiful in its own quiet way.
It’s a nice part of the drive to simply relax in the car and enjoy the changing mountain landscape outside the window.
Return to Chongqing
After the visit, return by private vehicle to Chongqing.
You’ll arrive back at your hotel around early evening, usually around dinner time.
This day trip works especially well for travellers who want to experience Chongqing’s surrounding mountain scenery without planning transport or logistics on their own—and see one of southwest China’s most remarkable natural landscapes in comfort.
